Thanks to Liz for this.. an article that breaks down exactly why we 3 dimensional women feel uneasy (or sometimes filled with rage) about certain female characters in otherwise decent enough movies.

I think Natalie Portman's character in Garden State is what made me hate the entire movie. right on!
i remember when i saw a preview for Elizabeth town i said " i hate that girl." as in the character, not the actress, who actually i kinda hate anyways....
